A veterinary assistant works with veterinarians to help care for animals. As a veterinary assistant you will help examine pets for signs of illnesses, injury, and disease.   • Sterilize laboratory and surgical equipment
  • Administer medication orally or topically

What Type Of Education Is Required To Become A Veterinary Assistant?

Most employers prefer that veterinary assistants have a combination of education and training. Some of the training you may receive could be from on the job training in settings such as a veterinarian office. Yet it may be important to pursue training from such programs as veterinary assistant degree programs. Veterinary assistant degree programs may help pursue skills such as:
